Like a little bit of sun and sand during your stay in Abu Dhabi? No need to fret, as there’s a beach not too far from Centro Al Manhal!



Al Bateen beach is an excellent 800 metre, palm tree lined stretch in one of the older and quieter areas of the city. It overlooks the Hudariyat island and the Hudariyat bridge and is one of the few beaches in Abu Dhabi which offers pristine and uninterrupted views.

A local favorite since time immemorial, the beach was recently rejuvenated in 2012 and is now well operated and maintained for public use.

It is divided into two main sections, one for the general public and the other for families only and is constantly monitored by lifeguards during the day.

A few unique features:
•The Bateen beach management company, named BAKE, offers an annual membership for year-round gazebo and sun lounge access.
•There are over 100 car parking spaces in very close proximity to the beach.

The beach is known to have something for everyone. If you’re visiting for some daytime snoozing and rest, choose your spot among 6 gazebos and laze around in one of the many sun loungers and day beds*. Sunsets are best viewed from such cozy cocoons!

Are you more of the active sort? Head to the beaches well-equipped water sports centre to indulge in some paddling and kayaking, or even a game of beach tennis*! If you’re new to the sports, trainers are always around for assistance too.


The beach is complete with all the essentials, and one can often find beach products for sale. Once you’re done, showers and changing rooms are on hand and you can end your beach experience with a quick stroll among the pretty walkaways and scenic gardens.

When you're ready to return, just hail a cab and ask the driver to take you to Centro Al Manhal!

•Men are encouraged to wear Bermuda shorts on the beach while women are permitted to be in swimwear.
